The Stafford Volunteer Fire Department is looking for new members who want to serve and give back to the community. If you are at least 16 years old, we invite you to share your talents and a little bit of your time with us by becoming a volunteer firefighter.
No experience necessary! Bring a willingness to learn and we'll provide all the training and equipment you will need. Before long you'll be helping your neighbors when they need help the most.
Don't want to battle a fire, throw a ladder or wrestle a hose, but still want to serve. We have administrative and auxiliary volunteer opportunities too.

By clicking on the above link, you will be directed to Stafford County's Fire and Rescue Department Volunteer Firefighter/EMT application. To apply for membership with the Stafford Volunteer Fire Department, answer "Stafford Volunteer Fire" when asked which fire station you would like to volunteer at. For those that want to actively fight fires and provide emergency 医疗 services, answer "Active" when asked which kind of member you would like to be. If you would like to be an administrative or auxiliary member, then mark "Administrative."
Within 2 weeks of completing the application, the administrative staff at the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department (SCFRD) will contact you to complete the remainder of the application process. This includes completing insurance forms, a driving record request (bring a copy of your driving record if from out of state), 医疗 & 免疫接种史, background investigation request, fingerprinting and providing any prior firefighting or EMS certifications. You'll also be asked to complete several online training courses. The SCFRD hosts an orientation on the 1st Monday of every month at 1900 at the Public Safety Center to complete this paperwork. Other opportunities to complete these items are available by making an appointment with the SCFRD staff by calling (540) 658-7200 .
Once the required paperwork and online training courses have been completed, you will be scheduled for a new recruit orientation weekend to complete CPR training and take your HazMat Awareness test, if you are not previously certified. After successfully completing all recruit orientation training, the SCFRD staff will forward your application to our membership committee. We will then contact you to be present at the next SVFD membership meeting. These occur on the fourth Monday of the month at 1900 at the station (305 Jason Mooney Dr). After the meeting we will start your probation with a Company 2 new members orientation. See you at the fire station!

If you are already a member of another fire/rescue station in Stafford County, have completed SCFRD in-processing (fingerprinting, 背景调查, 等.), and would like to join the Stafford Volunteer Fire Department, then e-mail our membership committee (membership@akingdum.net). We'll contact you to attend our next membership meeting and communicate your desire to join us to the SCFRD HQ.
